about

'Have Yourselves A Merry Indie Christmas (volumes 1-3) are a guidebook to an alternate universe of Christmas music that few know exists' - Christmas Underground

'The Ultimate alternative Christmas album' - Wales Arts Review

'Choc full of precious sounds - Christmas A Go Go

'Exceedingly hip' - Hip Christmas

Here it is - the third and final volume in the magical Have Yourself a Merry Indie Christmas series. In 2022, I curated Have Yourself a Merry Indie Christmas Volumes I and II to raise money for the charity Crisis. The 54-track albums, featuring Dodgy, The Lilac Time, Girl Ray, The Popguns, Suzzy Roche, The Boy Least Likely To, Helen Love and Pete Astor, were a massive critical success, supported by leading critics John Harris (The Guardian) and Pete Paphides (The Times, Q). The albums played on BBC6 Music, BBC Scotland, Radio X, while each volume was Album of the Week on the Huw Stephens show on BBC Radio Wales. In addition, the albums were aired on "indie" stations across Europe and America. So far the albums have raised over £5,800 for Crisis at Christmas. While Volumes 1 and 2 boasted 54 tracks each, volume 3 weighs in at 35 tracks, a fact reflected in the lower price of £5. Once again, after bandcamp commission, every penny goes to Crisis. Sincere thanks to all the musicians and labels that have made the album possible. All views expressed herein are those of the artists and not of Crisis. Special thanks to Christmas Underground, Tom at Fika, Irina, Gareth Jones, Adrian Goldberg. Ken Kessler and Adam Gardner. Once again, this volume is dedicated with love to Karen, Jenny and Becky and in friendship to my gig-going pals past and present - Paul, Wendy, Duncan and Huw
