about

One of the great joys of curating albums like V4Velindre and Have Yourself A Merry Indie Christmas is the opportunity they afforded me to discover artists that have gone under my radar. When I first heard St Lenox, I was both astounded at Andrew Choi's artistry and filled with sadness that I wouldn't be able to discuss his distinctive, stream of consciousness stylings with my dear friend Paul Lewis. Paul, a brilliant music journalist, died some years ago, but we would have spent many an hour debating St Lenox. Sadly that can never be, but I think that Paul would have agreed with the view of Stereogum that Choi has "one of the most striking instruments in music today."

St Lenox has released four albums on Anyway records between 2015 and 2021: Ten Songs About Memory and Hope, Ten Hymns From My American Gothic (A Gift For My Father In His 70th Year), Ten Fables of Young Ambition and Passionate Love and Ten Songs of Worship and Praise For Our Tumultuous Times.
